[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Zygaena purpuralis - family Zygaenidae.

Wingspan 30-35 mm. The moths preffers sunny places and are on the wings in the hottest moths: July and August. They likes violet and yellow flowers.

The specie is locally common in Poland but it was first time I've found it at large.

Please don't disturb this pair because they're very busy now ;-D

The picture was taken in deep forest where the light was not perfect...

I see that, regardless of the male's attention, the female has her mind on other things ;) I know it's a translation thing, but these are moths, rather than butterflies in English. This is a nice, colourful image of this pair. I have posted a quick workshop with some minor adjustments - I hope you like it.
Best wishes, Nigel.

Great shot Christoper!
You are lucky with Zygaenidae!
Very beautiful colours!
Great POV!
The softness of the photo is, may be, because of the low light conditions that you referred.
TFS!

Hi Christopher,
