Lycaena tityrus - family Lycaenidae.

Another shot of this beautifull butterfly. I've found it in early morning on Crataegus spp. bushes. The butterflies spent the night in places like that. Sometimes it's possible to find many butterflies of diferrent species on the same plant.
Early morning is a good time to observe all of them - they're lazy and stay in the same place. It's not hard to get very close and make a picture. This picture was taken from distance 30 cm.

If anybody wants to get more info about this specie - please go here.

A super shot of the Lycaena tityrus! This species doesn't come as far north as Sweden so this is probably the closest I'll get to observe one. It seems to be very rare even in Denmark from where the former Swedish name derives. Thank you very much for providing this virtual butterfly viewing!
P.S. The naming from NRM you use on European Butterlies has been revised and is not current any longer. It's been changed from Dansk guldvinge to Sotguldvinge (Sot = Soot).

Hallo Chris, you have clearly worked out the beauty of this butterfly. Both antennae with their 'ring structure' and their yellow-brown coloured tips look nice and appear considerably sharp.

Pretty little butterfly and well taken, nicely done!

Hi Chris,
the close-up is very nice with lovely colours and great DOF.
Well composed and good POV.
Well done.

excellent colours and details,
perfect pose - excellent!
Slight cropping at the bottom, and significant cropping at the right might increase concentration to the composition.
Very good contribution!
