I really don't know why I didn't posted this picture in Spring time ;-D
It's one of the first signs of the Spring. The butterfly is on the fly in April and May. It's quite small (the maximum wingspan is 40 mm) but really very nice.
Most of the Pieridae are usually white - this butterfly isn't: the males have part of the upper wings in orange. The females looks like "typical" Pieridae.

The caterpilars usually feeds on Cardamine and Alliaria plants.

Hello Christopher.
Beautiful photograph of this butterfly, beautiful colors. Can be a little fuzzy on the two wings postpones, but that gene not the beauty of the photograph. Thank you, Arnaud.

Preciosa esta forto de la bella mariposa. Un saludo y enhorabuena. TFS.

Very sharp and well lighted on a bg that enhances the insect colors. And not so easy! I still have to manage one single picture of A. cardamines.... Good job.

Hello Chris,
The Orange Tip, which may be different species, in my area never stop flying. I manage to get a picture which wing closed and can see only white color. This is a fine picture. Thanks for sharing.

Clever shot as the Orange Tip tends to be on the move all the time! Nearly sharp, beautiful colours against the leaves.

Wow! What a beautiful butterfly Chris. I love those orange tips on his wings - no wonder he is called that! He is a little soft, but the colours and details all stand oout. Good job!

What a beautiful specimen you have captured here, Chris!
I like the orange colour on its wingtips. A most appropriately named butterfly, indeed.
Well done and TFS.
