Amanita Muscaria

The Fly Agaric has been known as a poisinous since ancient times.The most readly recognized of all mushrooms.Poisonous,thougt not deadly as Amanita Phalloides or A.Virosa.
Cap is glubose at first and completly enveloped by a white universal veil,later convex.Bright orange-red to lemon-yellow.
The gills are white,crowded,free and the spores are white.Stem is white,with a ring.
Flesh is white or pale orange under the cuticle.
Appearing in Autumn/Winter.
I take this photo in north of Portugal - Montalegre.

I love these, I must go and see if we have any in my local woods yet. I love seeing them as the small white spiky balls. Lovely colours here, sharp and with a great shiny texture

Nice macro shot, great sharpness and textures on the cap, nice natural colors. Great job MF. A pity a part of the fruitbody was already eaten by a snail, but it wasn't Your fault. Although the photographed object is less aesthetic this way indeed.

I'm wondering why Wiki and other sources ignore the very important information this specie's only living on acid soil?!
