Armillaria mellea

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Armillaria mellea is a plant pathogen and a kind of Honey fungus. It causes Armillaria root rot many plant species. The mushrooms are edible but some people maybe intolerant to them. The fungus produces mushrooms around the base of trees it has infected. As the fungus causes root rot, symptoms also appear in the crowns of infected trees as death and dieback of the branches.

Hello José,
A nice capture of the Honey Fungus taken from a good POV with excellent clarity and natural colours in a natural setting of pine needles.
It is amazing how this species varies in colours and some have become recognised as separate species.
Thanks and have a good week,
Ivan

Ciao Jose. Very good light and warm colours against the autumnal environment.
