[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Last year I visited the island of Faial, one of the nine inhabited islands of the Azores. Unfortunately I was not able to climb down into the caldera to see the endemic plant life, but I did walk the entire rim having a magnificent view of the entire island but also the island of Pico, Sao Jorge and Graciosa.

The caldera is 400 meters deep and 2 kilometers wide. The walk, which in some places was pretty tough was about 10K.

Schitterende foto van deze caldera. Genomen vanuit een erg mooi punt in een fantastische compositie. Mooie natuurlijke kleuren. Jammer dat je niet naar beneden kon.
