one of my favorite bird from Danube Delta

Glossy Ibis - Plegadis falcinellus
Glossy Ibis are the size of small herons but are easily identified by their all-dark plumage, long, down-curved, curlew-like bills and a neck which is held outstretched in flight and is so slender it looks distinctly fragile. At close range you can see the iridescent green, maroon and brown sheen which gives the bird its name. They are sociable birds, often feeding in small parties or flying over in a trailing line or in 'V' formation.
This is the most widespread ibis species, breeding in scattered sites in warm regions of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Atlantic and Caribbean region of the Americas. It is thought to have originated in the Old World and spread naturally from Africa to northern South America in the 19th century. This species is migratory; most European birds winter in Africa, and in North America birds from north of the Carolinas winter farther south. Birds from other populations may disperse widely outside the breeding season.
The Glossy Ibis nests colonially in trees, often with herons. It is also gregarious when feeding in marshy wetlands; it predates on fish, frogs and other water creatures, as well as occasionally on insects.

asa cum ti-am spus deja... o fotografie deosebita. ma intrebam cand o sa apara aici.
daca era o lumina de dimineata ca sa ilumineze pasarea cat mai uniform era perfecta. asa doar aproape perfecta... si as vrea sa am si eu una asa :)

Hello Lucian,
Superb capture of the Glossy Ibis, sharp with excellent contrast against the BG of dried vegetation. Lovely lighting and colour. This is also one of my favourite birds, though very rare in Sweden.

Hi Parvulescu,

Another bird I have not seen before. This is beautiful - so sleek looking. The colors and details are wonderful showing off the shiny plummage. Nice natural setting.

Hello Lucian,
Great capture of this beautiful bird.
You did a great job of catching the iridescent colors on the feathers. Very sharp details and wonderful POV.
TFS. ; )

Super!
TFS!
