hi horia, amazing colours of lizard. good work
I was surprised with this shot, the texture of the stone, also looks like some sort of anphibian skin :)
Nice capture of this hansome and green subject, I like the composition with the vertical crop, and the OOF BG. Great exposure and details too.

Very good picture!
I like so much your low POV, we can almost have a same level view of the lizard.
The bright green on the skin stands out, and makes an important colour contrast with the upper brownish skin.
I like so much also the DOF, you put away the background so softly.
The image of the workshop is just great! You know I love portraits, and this close approach to the head is magnificent.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.

Indeed spring is some weeks ahead in Romania compared to Poland. It's quite cold here now. Anyway, this is a very nice portrait with the bowing shape dissapearing in the blurred background. I think which one I like better, this or the one in workshop and still I don't know. Both are cool :-)
Concerning ticks, yes they're quite nasty to sand lizards. I have those suckers photographed as well in my archive.

Wow... what great skin colour this wee fella has. I like your POV as it shows his whole body right down to the tip of his tail nicely. Excellent workshop too. Congrats my friend! A two stunning shots. :-)

This is such a superb specie, I like its color a lot :) I'll be honnest with you, I think that the portrait in WS is more impressive by its proximity. This is a great capture with excellent exposure and details. This is a superb post anyway, even if I prefer the portrait :))) Well done and TFS,

Super photo the colors are phantastic. Great focus and nice low POV. I like the composition and the way the sharpness ebbs towardds the BG.
I like perfect detailed, illuminated and colored image of the lizard. Your low POV is very interesting as well as vertical cropping and composition. Remote, well being made out background is looked perfectly. Excellent done, my compliments and best wishes.

Very nice capture Horia with good exposure and excellent detail. I may have pulled back alittle so as to place the subject slightly "more" off center. Anyhow its just my gut feeling on opening the image. WS is also very good revealing minute details. Well done.

Hello Horia !
This is really a wonderful lizard, I wish I could meet this species soöe day ! Its bright green color is quite stunning. Excellent details, colors, composition and POV. I love how the lizard is looking directly in your camera. Very well done !
Deja sunt cu o pagina in urma.
N-am stiut si n-as fi crezut! Multumesc!

wonderful encounter! Excellently chosen point of view from close distance, that makes this meeting appear almost intimate. The perfectly placed focus with the well dosed fall-off in sharpness to the rear adds a dramatic punch that I like very much. The restriction to just two colours is strikingly effective, demonstrating the conspicuous green colours of attraction against the subdues grey and brown shades of environment.
You make me get out with my cameras to look for some Lacerta in mating mood, too!

Great picture of this lizard.
Great color, background, sharpness, position and lighting.
Well this bright little fellow has earned you some well deserved points! he looks as if he belongs in the tropics. The color is super. I like the point of view. A tad bit more depth of field would be nice but I suspect f8 is the smallest aperture you have on that camera?
Evelynn : )

Excellent sharp photo where the flash realy helped to bring out the details and the intens green color of the lizard. The rock on where you captured the lizard makes for a very clean photo and gives the perfect focus on the lizard. The softness of the BG helps with it as well. I do agree with Evelynn on the aperture, but that might also have caused the BG to show too much detail. It all depends on the distance of the subject from the lens. Hyperfocal distance. Anyway, it surely does not make the photo less beautiful.
This guy made me smile! Just relaxing on that stump, wish I could sunbathe right now instead of all this coursework I have to do!
Most prominent in this photo is the outstanding greens on the body of the lizard, they are so vibrant! Love the sharpness you've got here and the image on the whole is clear. Depth of field is about right for me, I understand that f/8 was a wide as you could go but I don't think it's a problem here: the background is still blurred enough and it gives us more of the lizard in focus.
The light is bright and yet you've coped with it well choosing a position that causes an interesting shadow to be cast underneath. Exposure is also handled well with nothing over or under done. Across the whole photo the colour tones are natural and are a nice contrast with the lizard.
Perfect viewpoint. By looking down on him a bit we don't get a boring background, instead we see more of the environment. I like the placement of the lizard in the lower third of the frame, it is nicely balanced and logical. The background itself is simple and uncluttered.
Yes, this certainly stands out. I think you've done a great job of recording this moment. The skills you have as a photographer are fantastic and when you get your hands on a DSLR you'll be in heaven! The note is interesting and I think your fieldtrips are a perfect excuse to take photos! I'm about to start a geography assignment on how photography and images can be used in the primary school - should be fun!
All the best,
Hello mister, time for some update on your pictures. I'd seen this one already a couple of times briefly but was only short moments on TN. A nice capture. This L.a. seems heavier than the one we have here? Do you know if that's the case or is this just a large specimen. It also seem to lack the black dots on the side. It's nice to take pictures from this pov. You get to see the whole animal and also have good eye contact. A nice one!!

Impressive to get a so close frontal approach to a lizard. That must means you know them quite well!
Perfect pov and perspective and great portrait in the WS.
