The Carpathian Newt (Triturus montandoni) is a species of salamander in the Salamandridae family. It is found in Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, arable land, pastureland, rural gardens, and ponds. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Hi Iulian!
Bravo! I really did not expected to see picture like this one on TN! It is not easy to find here an adult newt photo and the larva, no chance ;)
I believe that this one was taken in the aquarium, but really is it possible to do it in other way? :)
Picture is detailed (it is easy to see that this is a larva) but there is a little to much dark space in right corner.
Anyway, bravo for the first newt larva picture on TN!
