[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Wildflowers flourish on a floating carpet of foliage that grows across the southern end of Lacul Rosu, or Red Lake, made up of flowers, reeds and lilly pads. A 1 stop ND grad was also used to give 3 stops of grad in total.

Hi Steve and Ioana ;-)
Beautiful place! Great POV and composition, excellent colors. Well done!

I like composition and colors

This landscape orientation is nice too, but I think I prefer the vertical version you last posted. The water was more effective in leading the viewer into the scene. This is lovely too.

I'm not sure what you mean by 3 stops. Did you compensate down by -2 and then use the ND grad also?

What a really stunning picture. I love the flowers, the water, the fading trees and finally the mountain.

Romania is a colorful country and so full of lore. Some of your pictures of this area, the flora and such with geologic backdrapes, clarify a few perhaps mistaken images one would have had about a place of historical mystery.

Hello Steve and Ioana,

This is a second composition with the Lacul Rosu lake and the Suhard mountain in the background. I remember there was a bench somewhere in the place where you took this picture. Near by a pole! I took a few pictures from this point myself.
I like the receding lines that lead the eyes through the picture and up to the mountain in the distance! The same mysterious atmosphere as in the previous shot! In both shots you mentioned that "a 1 stop ND grad was used to give 3 stops of grad in total". What was the purpose of this filter? I've never used one. From your note I thought that it reduced the dynamic range of the picture. Was I wrong?

With Friendly Regards,
