[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another photo from Romania. It is a very common species Maniola jurtina. As it is a very frequent vistor at TN I decided to show you something different - the magick of photoshop ;-). You can see the original file and the image after changes

1. crop to improve the composition and make the subject more prominent
2. higlights reduction 11%
3. levels
4. saturation +5
5. selective sharpening and unsharp mask on wings
6. noise reduction in background

As you can see even an accidental (and not a very good) shot can look quite nice after some PS magick.

Good morning Krzysztof!
Yes I am pleased that we have Photoshop, even my out-dated PS4! Your skills in using it are also very good in producing this image of a M.jurtina.
Well done and kind regards,
Ivan

Hi Krzysztof
What a great work!
This is one of the most common butterfly in this year in Romania in my opinion!
Congratulation!

Witaj Krzysztofie,
Zabiegi w Photoshopie dobrze wykonane daja znakomite rezultaty. Sproboj pierwotnego ostrzenia w trybie LabColor i w skali szarosci a dopiero potem nastepne, wtedy jest mniejsza strata w szczegolach.
Pozdrawiam, Pawel

Hello Chris,
Interesting posting. It's a good thing to show the possibilities of photoshop or other similar programms. I sometimes have some reticence, If I see pictures with too much PP work, especially if colors are too saturated or changed. Shouldnt they be as close as possible to the original? But I can see well the improvements.
Thanks and kind regards
Anne

Hi Krzysztof.
I have met this species in our places often this year. It is very cute and you have shared an attractive collage which demonstrates your skill on PP. First I tried to fine difference between pictured butterfly but after reading the note I have understand your idea. Nice work. With regards,
Alexei.

Great images, Chris, even though the first one is better than the second.
It is good to receive your opinion on my recent picture after a long time.

Hi Kryzs, Thank you- a excellent image and a very easy to follow instructions on PS. while I follow a similar routine I have never known how much highlights and shadow reduction to use - so normally guess work. I have also never done noise reduction.. will try it. I see you are a highly qualified man for TN. I look forward to following your gallery. Thanks Rich
