[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It's been a while since I've posted something because I was not taking pictures, yesterday I decided to make some time and go take some pictures. I found a place not so far away in the field where there is a little well a big puddle, ok a huge puddle full of life, insects,birds, water snakes and other reptiles...you name it... the problem with birds is that they hide away very cleverly and sneaky, do to lack of equipment I have limited macro gear( not a good investation in macro rings I was warn but....I call this the stupidity tax :( ), to photograph birds I got a 300 mm lens witch is acceptable but some times demanding a longer a longer one...

Description:

A poppy is one of a group of a flowering plants in the poppy family, many of which are grown in gardens for their colorful flowers.

Poppy flowers have 4 to 6 petals. Petals may be almost any color, and some have markings. Before blooming, the petals are crumpled in the bud, and as blooming finishes, the petals often lie flat before falling away. A whorl of stamens is in the center of the flower.

The pollen of the oriental poppy, Papaver orientale, is dark blue. The pollen of the field poppy or corn poppy (Papaver rhoeas) is dark blue to grey. Bees use poppies as a pollen source.

Poppies belong to genera of Papaveraceae, which includes:
Papaver – corn poppy, Opium poppy, Oriental poppy, Iceland poppy, and about 120 other species
Eschscholzia – California poppy and relatives
Meconopsis – Welsh poppy, Nepal poppy, and relatives
Stylophorum – Celandine poppy or wood poppy
Argemone – Prickly poppy
Romneya – Matilija poppy and relatives
Canbya – Pygmy poppy
Stylomecon – Wind poppy
Arctomecon – Desert bearpaw poppy
Hunnemannia – Tulip poppy
Dendromecon – Tree poppy

Szia Hedesan!
Még ha nincs is makrolencséd, a kép hatásosra sikerült. A kompozíció kiváló, a fények nemkülönben. Tetszetős, elegáns munka. Ami szerintem nem 100%-os rajta:
- túl kicsi fájlméret (miért nem használod ki a 800 pixel adta lehetőséget?)
- a színek kicsit a cián tónus irányába vannak tolva.
Kérlek nézd meg a workshop-ot.

PS-answering your question, I always use autofocus and always use manual composition of speed and aperture combination.
