[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The European greenfinch, or just greenfinch (Chloris chloris) is a small passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae.

This bird is widespread throughout Europe, north Africa and south west Asia. It is mainly resident, but some northernmost populations migrate further south. The greenfinch has also been introduced into both Australia and New Zealand. In Malta it is considered a prestigious song bird which has been trapped for many years. It has been domesticated and many Maltese people breed them.

Chloris is from the Greek Khloros meaning "green" or "yellowish-green"

The greenfinch is 15 cm long with a wing span of 24.5 to 27.5 cm. It is similar in size and shape to a house sparrow, but is mainly green, with yellow in the wings and tail. The female and young birds are duller and have brown tones on the back.

Hello Marius,
What an amazingly beautiful image. And at such a high shutter speed that gave you this sharpness, not to mention the 36.3 Mb resolution but all credit to the photographer. Well done.

Hello Marius,
Your cute little Green Finch is so pretty and has such an attractively marked plumage. It's features remind me so much of our American Goldfinches, although the colors are a bit different. Love the wonderful eye contact with a glimpse of catchlight. Captured in a relaxed pose and showing exceptional detail. Exposure is right on the money. Well done!!

Beautiful capture of this Greenfinch, Marius.
Perfect focus, precise details and truly natural colours.
I love that catch-light in the eye.

Hi Marius,
Beautiful image, lights and colors are also wonderful and the composition's pleasant, eventhough the horizontal branch in the background is a little destructing element. Great pose and eye-contact as well. Nice photo... but when can we expect new ones from you?
Kind regards from Ireland, László
