The Crocothemis erythraea is a member of the dragonfly genus Crocothemis. Its common names include Broad Scarlet, Common Scarlet-darter, Scarlet Darter and Scarlet Dragonfly.

The Scarlet Dragonfly is a common species in southern Europe and north Africa. It is recorded from every country in Africa and occurs across Asia as far as southern China.

Hi Marius,the blurred wing disturb a bit the eye but no problem,it's always a problem to take the dragonflies..ehehe...the body and the face are fantastic,and the red too is very bright,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Marius,
Excellent macro of this dragonfly in splendid colors and god sharpness. A bit blurring through the moving wings, but that's no problem. Taken from a nice POV in a fine composition.
