Hello Horia,
OK, I'll stretch my imagination: it needs some excercise. 'Trident' means three toothed in latin. In Swedish it is called 'three points'. I'd like to give you three points for your imagination and this fine shot of this red darter and its POV, BG, sharpness and comp., but I'm afraid I'm only allowed to give you two!
TFS and all the best mf,
Ivan

Hello Horia,
very elegant, dynamic and noble composition of colours and shapes. The slightly soft appearance of the dragonfly seems to be due to the inevitable procedure of downsize to web.
I also like the typography your name is printed - the font seems to be Exocet by Jonathan Barnbrook, looks perfectly well with your name.
Thank you also for the little shortcut to Greek mythology, always welcome to find good information combined with pleasant entertainment.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter
Hi Horia,
Nice capture of the dragonfly on the trident,I posted in the ws a small snap of Neptune armed with trident a habitual visit when mariners pass for the first time in their life the equator with a vessel, well captured and TFS

Hello Horia,
The picture of the dragonfly is very good -- something usual from a dedicated photographer like you.
However, it is your note on the Trident that I enjoyed reading. You have brought forth certain very interesting facets of it from the world mythology.
The scope of learning and widening of horizons need not be restricted to nature only at times, and this is it.
Best regards,
Ram

Hello Horia,
Wonderful picture. I like the way this dragonfly and the trident float from the background. Thanks to your imagination and flash back to Greek mythology. Very well done and tfs.

Hi Horia,
a nice close-up with good details and ´nice colours.
Maybe I had cropped it in landscape mode but thats me.
The DOF is aslo good, the subject standout well from the BG.
Well done.
Hi Horia.
I have read your note with great interest and pleasure. Thank a lot.
I like your nice picture so much too. As usual, details, sharpness and exactness of colour reproduction of the dragonfly are perfect as well as the flower and nicely coloured and blurred BG. For my taste the vertical cropping is disputable a bit. But this is not a lack. It is my personal perception only. Without any discounts excellent work.. My best regards and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Horia,
In this shot I think the dragonfly and the plant with dry seed-heads play an equal part against the very beautiful background. The sharpness is excellent and the colours are beautiful. I really like the composition and the vertical framing here.

magnifique macro superbe netteté et couleurs trčs belle composition bravo

Hi Horia,
great display of colours here (though I wonder if it is red blood-red)! The sharpnes and shown features are nice (also the white dots -flowers?- in the background). Some time ago I posted a sypetrum pedemontanum in the portrait composition. Having seen your workshop I should have taken the landscape format as well. The lengt of the dragonfly is more stressed by the format.
Also some interesting facts. Good for my knowledge about mythology.
Here's another fact: taxonomists in the Netherlands have decided to leave the conventional path of Triturus and for example T. alpestris is now called Mesotriton alpestris.
But most of all I'll like the picture and I wonder what you aim at looking at o's in your name ;-)
Regards, Jacob

Hello Horia,
the picture is well composed and the focus on the dragonfly is pretty good. With f/3.5, depth of field is rather narrow and leads to lack of sharpness on important parts of the insect. I would have suggested a smaller aperture.
Best wishes, Peter

bonjour horia
bravo.

Hello Horia,
can't wait until they are flying again, in the mean time I have to shovel snow ;-)... up to 25 cm we are expecting today.
So this is just wonderful to look at and dream about summer. The composition is very elegant, I love the OOF BG it allows an undistracted view of this wonderful dragon fly. The details are amazing sharp to the smallest details. POV, colors and framing are wonderful.

Hi Horia,
When one stretchs imagination, one can go back to greek times and immerse in the mood of mythology. It's a clear example of the human nature that makes some fun of our own species.
A great composition with excellent details and dof.
TFS, José M.
Hello Horia!
A little more time so the comment will be a little longer ;)
I nteresting presentation with interesting note. Really I have to say that I had to think a minute why the title is trident ;) On the picture there is jus a draginfly! :)
But of course very soon I saw the other elements! Nice idea for the title with the main object (Odonata) only as a "detail" ;)
The DOF is good (if we look at the species) but if should be better (especially if you want to see a trident ;>).
Anyway, I like this presentation because you payed my attention for something more that a "normal dragonly" ;>
Greetings,
Radomir

Hello Horia, my friend!
I was away for few days, but now I'm back :-) Big thank you for this dedication, I'm really honoured! I like both - photo and your imaginetion :-) Plant looks like trident, its sure thing. Insect looks like... well, Dragonflies almost always looks like futuristic speeders from sf movies :-)
BTW - I like your Diablo font :-) Do you like computer games?

Cheers!
Ricardo
Both framings are pleasant due to the appropriate point of view Horia.
In spite of scarce DOF the focus is really very good showing a lot of details of the insect with fitting illumination and natural colors.
Obtained OOF enhances the silhouette of the dragon and your trident.
The PVS workshop... without words ;~)
Cheers!

BRAV۞ H۞RIA B۞GDAN!
What a shot! The colour is sparce but outstanding.
The lacey wings on the dragonfly are awesome! The best part for me is the balancing act! The monodent spear end is in perfect balanch with the chunky frontend, wings and all. WOW!

Hi Horia,
This Sympetrum sanguineum didn't know that being on this plant it will start a worldwide discussion on tridents!
Excellent composition and marvellous colour-combunation.
In french the newt is called "triton".

Hello Horia,
What a complete post, I mean; there are many elements here :) This picture from Paul in WS is just too hilarious. I will be honest with you, I really have problem seeing a trident in your picture but I must have lost my child's perception :) This is a great capture of this beautiful insect. I really don't know how you can photograph them, I never succeed is such a difficult task. I love its pose, details, colors, exposure and beautiful BG. For me the vertical composition works very well! I had a good time looking at this post and reading your notes. Thanks,
Claudine
