Hello Chris,
Superb capture of the Blue-spot Hairstreak (Satyrium spini) not S. w-album. W- album is not seen in the middle of June and lacks the blue spot seen here.
Excellent sharpness, POV and BG.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Agree with Argus but easy to make this mistake in the field.

Hi Chris,
Very beautiful butterfly and you have captured a nice pose. Lovely colours and sharp details. The smooth BG lets the subjects stand out well. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.

bonjour chris
la texture des ailes et les details ressortent bien, les couleurs sont belles et bonne comme l'exposition.
bon pov et dof.

They do look very similar. Looks like they buy their argile socks from the same store. :-) Very nice closeup with good focus and color. Well done.

Hello Chris,
Brilliant capture of this beautiful White-letter Hairstreak in a fine upright pose. Excellent sharp details and natural colours. Beautiful soft background too
They're quite rare here and we've missed it this year so thanks a lot for this beauty!
PS - I did hesitate when I saw the beautiful blue spot!! This is a real beauty!!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Great capture of this hairstreak Chris

Good sharpness and composition
Good DOF, Ilike the underwing pattern

Bonjour Chris
This 'Thécla du prunellier' is very successful.
Your photograpfie shows all well the détils which make it possible to identify it.
In a friendly way

Hello Chris,

This is a very sharp macro photography of this little Hairstreak! I've read that the Canon EF 100 mm f/2.8 USM Macro might be the sharpest lens from Canon. A piece of equipment I would like to buy one day.
The composition is very good with the butterfly and flower placed in opposite sides of the center of the frame. My preference would be to crop from the right side so that the flower in the right is lost. This would accentuate the space in front of the insect. Apart from this I can't improve on this great picture since colors, contrast, exposure and focus are outstanding! Well done! Thanks!

With Friendly Regards,
