At Preddvor lake Črnava a family of coots can be found this spring. There are parents with 5 juveniles hiding in the grass on the western side of the small lake.
The juveniles have somewhat strange look with their orange-red bills. In a nest there are up to 10 eggs, but only about 3 youngs will survive, when there is a lack of food. Surprisingly parents are very cruel and bite the juveniles begging for food, until some of them starve to death !?

interesting looking ducks focus is a little soft, parents beak is over exposed the plant in front of the baby is distracting, should have waited a second or two for the baby to clear the plant nice composition witht eh mother and kid in the tall plants
