People and some other animals, especially cows don't like it but like other insects it is interesting.
In spring it can make people nervous in their homes.
This photo was made in the forest near Preddvor. No special preparation just passing through the place and keeping attention.
From a pair of flies there come an incredible number flies in 4 months (191010000000000000000 flies !! if all were to live). Luckily predators and weather factors heavily reduce their population so most of the zeros from the number can be erased.

I'm not sure which species exactly belongs this one on the photo, surely not to domestic flies. Domestic ones have grey body, this one has metal-look body.

Hi Mitja,
Nice shot of this rather disliked denizen of the planet! The metallic sheen on its back looks good. A close-up macro would have been more interesting. TFS.
