After a long time without visiting this web page I want to share with you this Tomares ballus. They start showing up in late February and I like them.

Tomares ballus female.
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Lycaenidae
Genus: Tomares
Species: T. ballus

Its size is usually 1.5 cm. You can find them from February to May. They usually live in an altitude of 300 to 1,500 meters. Their larvae feed on legumes, especially the genus Lotus, also of Astragalus, Onobrichis, Mediacago, Dorycnium, etc. Larvae mutualisms establish relationships with species of ants. The female is mor colorfull than the male.
They are found in Spain, France and North Africa.
I hope you like it and Lord willing I will start to upload more pictures this year.
