[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi friends,
The enchanting botanic garden El Jardín Botanico Viera y Clavijo on the Canary Island Gran Canaria has a very wild selection of palms - probably the widest in Europe. I've seen dozens of species there I've never heard of before - one of them was Ptychosperma salomonense, a palm tree native in the tropical rainforests of Solomon Islands and New Guinea, in the Austral-Oceanic region. The leave structure, seen from below, reminded me to an eagle wing - hence the title.
Photo: taken in manual exposure mode, with ISO 80, f/8 and 1/200 sec. No PP at all except for moderate cropping and re-sharpening after re-sizing.
As I found an image on TN which MAY show this species, I can't claim my photo as a first time now.
Thanks for looking. |
