The Mediterranean monk seal and Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) is a species of pinniped mammal of the family of the phocids, one of the rarest in the world. Is in serious danger of extinction; formerly populated the waters of the Mediterranean and North African Atlantic, reaching the Cape Verde Islands, Madeira and the Canary (which gave name to the island of Lobos) and to all the North African coast .

Ciao,
nice photo, but it is not the monk seal, but a common seal! Galicia is not in the Mediterranean, and the monk seal, does not live there. Among other things, its back is of uniform color in contrast to this Phoca vitulina
ciao
Stefano
