Post reply; This particular male was about 50cm but they can get as long as 80cm. Males are bigger than females. Somewhere on the island I am convinced that there is a grand old male 100cm long. Subfossils show that the species has shrunk dramatically over the past 2000 years, probably due to the introduction of cats, rats and other predators.
