Very nice picture of this fly. Good composition. Excellent sharpness and wonderful colours. I had a look on the site "www.diptera.info", it seems to be Gonia sp. , but which one, I do not know.

Stunningly detailed image of this unusual fly.
I've seen similar flies but none with such widely spaced apart eyes!

complimenti per questa bella foto di Gonia ornata.
Mi piace soprattutto la luce diffusa, senza sgradevoli riflessi e la perfetta messa a fuoco sul soggetto e sul fiore.
Molto interessante e didattico il riquadro in basso a destra, che mostra le caratteristiche macchie bianche sull'addome di questa specie.

the colours of the flower and the detail sharpness of both, the flower and the fly are pretty good.
The background design is highly appropriate to let stand out the important 'players' of your picture.

I agree about the ID: this is a fine capture showing two views of Gonia ornata. Both macro views have fine sharpness and are taken from excellent POV's that allow us to see the fly very well. nice composition on the flower.
