[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Iphiclides podalirius butterfly has survived the attack of a bird that has ripped a piece of its wing. The bright colors of butterflies at the end of their wings make the birds attack these parts, which are not generally required to keep flying and looking for daily food. This is an example of survival after an attack. From this angle you can see how it keeps his balance and is taking nectar from this flower of the blackberries bush. Saludos.

Hello Jose,
Very interesting subject and nicely explained by your notes. I guess I never thought about the colors on their wings actually attracting predators.
You have captured wonderful DOF as well as super sharp focus. The low POV allows us to easily view the butterfly sipping nectar. Beautiful natural coloration.

Hello Jose,

Seems like this little fellow have had some hard times!
Also interesting to see the harsh side of nature...
A well framed scene, sharp fine details!

Bonjour Jose,
