Libelloides ictericus.
Kingdom: Animalia / Phylum: Arthropoda
Clase Insecta / Orden Neuroptera
Familia Ascalaphidae
Subfamilia Ascalaphinae
Libelloides ictericus
= Ascalaphus libelloides

The adults Libelloides are carnivorous, they eat small insects. Adults are diurnal activity, especially intense in the sunniest days of the end of spring. The adult life of these creatures is usually only a few weeks. After mating they lay eggs in small rows on stems of herbs. You can see them from late May to early August.
In their larvae stage of life they are in the grass and under rocks. In this stage they eat other larvae insects. After two years of living they secretes silk and produces a cocoon where the metamorphosis is performed, leading to the adult or imago, this metamorphosis takes about two or three weeks.
They are not very easy to find them, but they are in Spain.
Saludos.
