Lactarius quieticolor

This mushrooms are often confused with "Lactarius deliciosus", an excellent edible very apreciated by the mushroom hunters.

This is nothing to worry about this time, as this one is also edible, but not as tasty as the "Niscalo" (that is how we call the Lactarius deliciosus here).

Pileus
Cap 5-14 cm broad, convex, becoming centrally depressed and vase-shaped; margin incurved, sometimes upturned in age; surface viscid when moist; color variable: various shades of orange and brown arranged in concentric zones, orange often fading, while green tones continue to develop, predominating at maturity; flesh yellowish-orange, when cut yielding will turn green and an orange latex will appear; taste, slightly bitter.

Lamellae
Gills close, subdecurrent, orange, greenish in age, bleeding an orange latex.

Stipe
Stipe 3-8 cm tall, 1-3 cm thick, equal to sometimes tapered at the base, orange, dry, bruising and staining green with age; veil absent.

Hope you like!
