Cantharellus tubaeformis (dedicated to Ersin [eruyanik])

Cris took this one while I was holding the umbrella, it was cold and windy.
As you see textures are quite difficult, colours almost the same to BG, and they where in a moody place in the forest. More difficulties are welcome :D

Common Name: Funnel Chanterelle, Yellow foot

Synonym: Cantharellus infundibuliformis

Cap 2-4 cm broad, at first convex, then depressed, sometimes hollow in the center, trumpet-shaped; margin incurved, wavy; surface dry, brown to yellowish-brown, with fine dark scales; flesh thin, yellowish-brown; odor and taste mild.

Gills buff-brown, lighter than cap, edges blunt, decurrent, widely separated, with cross-veins.

Stipe 2.5-7.0 cm long, 0.5-1.0 cm thick, buff-brown, smooth, equal, flattened to longitudinally grooved, sometimes hollow.

Spores 8-12 x 5-8 µm, smooth, elliptical. Spores pale buff to white in deposit.

Scattered to clustered on soil, moss, and rotten wood in conifer woods during mid-winter.

Edible and excellent.

This diminutive member of the chanterelle clan is recognized by a yellowish-brown, trumpet-shaped, sometimes hollow fruiting body, and blunt-edged widely spaced gills. Cantharellus tubaeformis appears well after the start of the mushroom season with peak fruitings in January and February, thus one of its common names: Winter Mushroom.

Hola Felipe y Cristina.
Hermosa foto y composicion.
Felicitacione y Saludos.

Another good one Cristina. I especially like the adition of the one laying down so you can see the gills.
The texture is extracted very well and some nice details and sharpness. The bright parts on the leaves are well exposed. Well done.

Hi Felipe,

I'm honoured by dedicated this beautiful photograph to me. You are very courteous friend.

This photo has got beautiful brown tones, everything perfect in the frame... I hope one day I will take a mushroom photograph like you.

PS: (about my photo) you are absolutely right, it isn't chanterellus tubaeformis, but clitocybe inversa was suspicious too. Nevermind it, not important.

See you soon...

Hi Felipe & Cristina
Great shot of the fungi. For you the textures were difficult, to me it is purely lovely.
I just have to look, you went through the hardship to capture it and share it with us. Thanks.
Very nice composition & POV with the positioning of the threesome. Exposure is perfect, clearly your umbrella/tripod combination are working very well for you.
Great work and TFS.
PS. Was it raining as well, as it almost seems like the leaves have been painted with varnish?

Hello Felipe and Cristina,

Another fantastic composition by you.

This one appears somehow...preserved, as though it were a museum display. Most likely a result of the rain.

Superb details, POV, exposure and talk about saturated colors :-)

A pleasure to view, thank you both!

Very impressive capture, considering the givens.
