Flowering Agave. The plant is growing on hillsides. The flower-stem can reach some 5m high. Flowers grow in bunches and are yellowish green.
In the background you can see the peaks from the roque Faneque, a part of the Tamadaba mountain range, boarding the valley of Agaete. It is dry season on the photograph, During winter-time there is more green.

Hola Karin,
Esta foto si que da una idea exacta sobre el enorme tamaño de la flor de la pita. Precioso ejemplar, fotografiado con un buen color, gran detalle y una montaña que proporciona un bello fondo. Quizás la foto hubiera quedado mejor si el fondo estuviera fuera de foco o desde un punto de vista más bajo para eliminar esas construcciones.

Original picture of this Agave. Never seen this plant flowering.
Good composition, the combination of the big flower-stem with the high mountain in the background. On this manner you put extra attention on the height of the plant. Well done.

Hello Karin,
A lovely shot, I like the framing of the flower against the mountains. The flower itself is interesting, the flower heads are almost like platforms of some kind, the way they are all held level. A good exposure with excellent colours. A shame about the fences in the background at the foot of the mountain but I don't think you could really frame it any differently. Nice shot.
