My modest contribution to the just missed theme.

I have already seen a lot of very nice and interesting shots in this series of "just missed". Blured, out of frame, out of focus, etc. so I tryed to choose another cause.

In this cased I just missed because I the size is VERY, VERY small. This insects are the tiny flying things that go into your eyes or mouth when near a river or pond. They are really difficult to see with simple eyesight.

I think this time I tryed to shoot something my camera is not able to, although you have seen the quite good macros it produces.

I made a good series of this, with nice winter soon just falling on them, this one was the best.
I was holding the camera with the objetive resting on the same wood table this two are posing on. The lens glass was about 2,5 Cm. far from these.

The male is the one on the left, you can see the pheromones catching antenaes if you look carefully.

Hope you like!

Nice shot Felipe. We call these things " miggies" When I go fishing you see swarms of them and they are a terrible nuisance. One good thing about them is, that where they are, the fish are also there.
Good post

Well you may have missed but they hit it off :-). Good capture Felipe, shame about the focus but it's still a nice capture of an intimate moment.

Felipe, Yes, they are very, very, VERY small. Hard to shoot well..Like Paul says "you may have missed but they hit it off" says it all! It is only by our attempting new things & testing the limits do we learn..Nice entry to the theme. TFS!

Maybe a new theme, Felipe: "What my camera cant do but I tried it anyway". That can become something interesting for improuvement.
I like those shots showing us the technical limitations of our cameras.
This kind of presentation does not draw our visual attention, but joins a need essential for the man: that to surpass himself.
An excellent post: picture and note.

Well, after reading your note, I must say it is a very good shot. Very good note too. Yes I like it.

Good shot Felipe. Interesting subject and moment. But most of all I like long shadows. Long shadows is always kind nostalgic for me - you know - autumn, end of long days, sorrow.

I agree with my husband ;-) Wonderful shadows and great nostalgic atmosphere!
And of course - interesting moment ;-)

Well missed Felipe, out focus and bad exposure.
Don't go on like this :-))

Hi Felipe
This is actually quite good, they look about mosquito size to me, and you have nice details and colour, so not a completely miss pic. TFS

Felipe, apesar de os insetos serem minúsculos, valeu pela tentativa. A foto não é ruim e, além do mais, tem um belo POV.
