ENGLISH NOTE IN THE LOWER PART

Miestras estaba entretenido fotografiando estos Mutinus caninus recibí la visita de una lombriz de tierra o miñoca, como las llamamos por aqui :)

El Mutinus caninus o falo perruno, se encuentra en los bosques de coníferas e incluso en los de planifolios. Crece durante el final del verano y durante el otoño.
La consistencia mucilaginosa de algunas de sus partes y el mal olor que despide hacen que esta especie sea inutilizable desde el punto de vista gastronómico.
Se puede desarrollar hasta alcanzar, aproximadamente, 10-12 cm de altura x 1,5 Cm de diametro. Por lo tanto, no se trata de una seta muy grande.
Forma parte de los gasteromicetos y de manera particular de las falaceas, a las cuales pertenecen especies con las formas más extrañas. Los gasteromicetos están inicialmente cerrados, en forma de pelota en una envoltura de la cual, después, se pueden desarrollar como es el caso de las falaceas. M. caninus se presenta inicialmente cerrado en una especie de huevo blanco que seccionado muestra diversas partes, bien diferenciadas, del futuro carpóforo. La seta se desarrolla a partir de este huevo rompiéndolo y alargándose. Se nota un pie blancuzco, hueco, con hoyuelos, presentando en el extremo superior una cabeza puntiaguda, parcialmente recubierta por una mucosidad verduzca y con una superficie de color rojo vivo. En la base permanecen los restos del huevo de los que la seta se separa con gran facilidad. Cuando está desarrollada tiene un olor repelente a cadáver; en cambio, el huevo huele a rábano.
Se compara con M. elegans a menudo confundido con ésta, pero diferente por la forma de la cabeza y el color más intenso.

While I was capturing this Mutinus caninus I had the visit of a Lumbricus terrestris or earth worm :)

Mutinus caninus (Pers.) Fr.Hundsrute, Phallus de Chien, Satyre des cheins, Dog Stinkhorn.
Fruit body initially a semi-submerged eggs as in Phallus impudicus but much smaller, 1–2cm across and more cylindric in shape, whitish-yellow, finally rupturing when the hollow pitted receptacle extends.
Stem 10–12cm high, pale yellow-buff to bright orange, surmounted by the narrow conical orange-red head covered in dark olive slime which contains the spores and has a very slight sickly smell.
Spores pale yellow, oblong, 4–5 x 1.5–2µ.
Habitat in leaf litter in woods. Season summer to late autumn. Occasional.
Not edible.

Otra obra magistral en exposición, saturación del color, detalles y nitidez. Una oportunidad única de ver estos falos caninos casi con más claridad que en persona. Si la foto capturara el olor no faltaría nada!

What an interesting find! The shape of these fungi is most interesting!
I like the POV but especially the tripod mount - very natural and honest of you :) It's also true that everybody that goens on fieldtrips knows that you must use all nature's ways and means to get a nice picture (no matter if it's wood, rocks, or simply gorund) :)
I like the lighting here, the sharp details and the natural colors.
Also the small worm from the lower part in a very nice intereated element :)

Very interesting fungus. Phallus de Chien is best name for it, I think ;-) As always great DOF and composition. You mastered fungi potography. Green, mossy BG is very good, details on main subjects well visible. Earthworm is a nice bonus, very rare on TN :-)

Today I was on fungi hunt again, so expect them in my next posts!

Morbosa y quasi pornográfica presentación... lo digo muy en serio Felipe... ;-P
Si te faltaba algo para tu colección de hongos era algo así como el falo perruno, con excelente punto de vista como es tu costumbre, perfecta iluminación que brinda nitidez y hasta texturas de cada parte de estos ejemplares.
Otro acierto para tu portfolio... pero ten cuidado con la censura por favor.

Te han salido bonito los Mutinus, la toma para mi gusto salió un poco quemado el blanco de la volva del ejemplar mas cercano, el fondo no sé si se podría mejorar sin desplazarlo del sitio, aún así es una toma muy bonita, enhorabuena. La foto que me enviste la acabo de consultar y se trata casi con toda probabilidad (dentro de lo que es la determinación virtual) del Tricholoma saponaceum var. squamosum. Saludos

As Greg says, you have mastered fungi photography. However I think your Sony is the best camera for this sort of short. It really brings out the detail very well.

Lo que puede imaginar la mente humana! No me imaginaba esta especie de hongos. Impresionante la nitidez y la belleza del lugar donde la sacaste, como ocurre casi siempre en tus fotos; aquí csi siempre crecen en lugares feos e incómodos para fotografiar.
