Hej Ivan,
a very nice tandem of a beautiful pair. The colours are warm and lovely, the BG is clean and compostion are very nice.
Details is good too, mat the head of the mail is a bit OOF.

Being relatively unknown, this species of damselflies is much more significant in terms of our quest for nature here on TN, IMHO, Ivan.
You are being modest about DOF in this picture; it is just perfect!
Both insects are in sharp focus and stand out well against the pinkish brown BG. Never mind slight blurring here and there.
The formations these insects make while mating amaze me.

What a charming couple of damsels.
I've seen quite a lot of these, in this pose, but rarely got a decent shot.
I'm raelly happy for yours, because you managed to keep only them in the frame and to blurr the BG magnificently.
The colors are charming and the sharpness is very good, too.

Hi Ivan,
Beautiful shot, with brilliant colours and excellent compo. In effect, I agree with you about not using a slower speed as camera shake would have been more visible. The background has a grainy effect that I find very attractive - noise could be used to good effect then!

Hi Ivan, this is a very well composed shot of these damselflies. I probably would have been tempted to go for a portrait format but you have chosen square. I think your choice is actually a better one here. The colour is very good and the detail, given the circumstances is not bad.

Hello Ivan,
what an amazing background. The colour combination is defenitly great in your image. You mentioned the dof which is a pity but not disturbing.
How did you sharpen the image. In my opinion it's a slight bit over the top. I use the unsharpen mask in Photoshop (settings: 100%; 0,2 pixels; treshold 0). Depending on the image I use it 1 to sometimes 8 or 9 times as one of the last steps in postprocessing.

Beside this minor crititque I think the overall image is great!

Hi Ivan

A lovely shot of this duo of damselflies with the male carefully guarding his female from other amorous interference.

The composition is really excellent in its simplicity showing only a branch and the two insects. The colours are pleasing, the details are nice and sharp as the haziness in the wings of the lower subject seems to be movement and not focus related, the BG is superb, and the lighting was well managed.

I missed some of your pic. SO going thru your pics.
This is very difficult to capture. I had tried once with S2 IS. Even with the conditions you mentioned, this turned out nice one. Nice dtails of lower damselfly. The one which is above is a bit out of focus because of the DOF you mentioned. The backgroundis great , uniform. A bit oversharpened and u might have used Neat Image to remove the noise. Over al nice work.
