Bonjour José,
Très joli aussi à contre-jour, c'est une espèce qui présente une architecture vraiment particulière. Elle aime les milieux très chauds : on ne la trouve que très localement en France (vers Nice-Monaco et en quelques très rares points de Provence). L'Andalousie lui convient certainement davantage...

A perfect example of looking at the same subject from a totally different perspective, Jose. The silhouette of the dried up thistle etched out against the sky has, as such, a different kind of appeal here.
Very artistic and equally evocative.

Muy bueno el POV y el efecto que conseguiste con la poca luz que quedaba.
En realidad la silueta de la planta-flor es muy particular, fue muy acertada la idea de captarla de esta manera.
La simplicidad de tu propuesta hace que descubramos y disfrutemos la enmarañada y espinosa estructura de la misma.
Que buenos el par de links que le añadiste a tu nota, son muy efectivos para mostrarnos las otras dos vistas en el ciclo de la flor.

Interesting experiment. Looks like graphic picture. The composition is great and shapes of the plant are exact. I don't understand why you have used average (not sport) metering mode and such short exposure. However, creative and interesting work. My vest wishes and TFS.

The Thistle looks really great in silhouette against the sky. The detail is very sharp. Well composed and framed. Makes my skin itch just looking. I have got tangled in these plants to many times.

Hello José,
as a silhoutte against the sky you have shown this thistle in beautiful arrangement again. Having seen your previous posting, I prefer the previous version one with all the fine details illuminated in an exquisite way that is hard to surpass in quality. In this highly reduced silhouette I'd prefer some more lighting of the plant, and an increased depth of field to show all the details as sharp as possible against the sky.
Nonetheless, this is a very fine and subtle composition of silent beauty. Thank you!

Hi Jose

Sorry I'm a bit late with this update, but the rat-race really had me in a strangle hold.

It is an amazing study in the profile of the dried out Distaff Thistle. A very simplistic composition which consist only of the thistle and the sky, but it sure as some remarkable visual impact. The OOF clouds in the BG add to the atmosphere of the shot while it also enhances the dried out seed pods. The colours splendid and the exposure is great.
