Happy Easter to all!

Marsh Tit, Poecile palustris

Swedish name: Entita

Though relatively common in Europe, not that many images of the Marsh Tit are shown on TN because it is difficult to photograph well. This is my first posting of this species on TN.

It is constantly on the move and keeps to dense large bushes or small trees by marsh areas. This is the closest to a clear view, but the y-shaped branch does not obscure its features.

It can be distinguished from the closely related Willow Tit by the shiny black cap: that of the Willow Tit is dull black. The black bib of the marsh Tit tends to be square rather than triangular.

I took this in a Nature reserve by the West coast of the Island of Öland.

It was about 5 meters from me and this enabled me not to crop too heavily.

After moderate cropping and size reduction and light adjustment the image was slightly sharpened.

Hello Ivan

Your Marsh Tit in Europe and northern Asia
it looks like our black-capped Chickadee
in North America and like your Marsh Tit
it is also « constantly on the move »,
excellent close-up photo with a fine POV and
the way its head is framed by the 2 branches
and obtaining from the bird its lovely eye-contact,
Happy Easter also to you and Ulla, TFS

An excellent image, I feel the presence of the branch in front of the bird makes it more beautiful . In my opinion a wonderful composition.

Hello Ivan.
Congratulations on your first Marsh Tit upload. You have framed the shot well peeking through the Y branch. Interesting to note that I made catapult with branches looking like this when I was much younger :-)
Lovely details and fine sharpness all around.
Thanks and have a great weekend.

Hej Ivan,

Lovely specimen and excellent photo. Great composition!

Happy Easter,

Ishi

Hi Ivan,
Happy Easter to you & your family, too. A great photo with great title. :-) Truly an outstanding composition, the title fits so well to the image. Congratulations for capturing this, here on TN rarely seen bird. Focus is excellent on the branch, just below the tit, although I feel the head of the little bird could be just a touch sharper. Otherwise an excellent image.
Best regards, László

Bonjour Ivan,
Agréable valorisation du sujet dans une bonne composition.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
