Hello friends, thanks for you kind words of my previous post.
This new born Four-spotted Chaser did not survive long, the ants attacked him before the wings had dried,
But that's nature.

from Wikipedia
The Four-spotted Chaser (Libellula quadrimaculata), known in North America as the Four-spotted Skimmer, is a dragonfly of the family Libellulidae found frequently throughout Europe, Asia, and North America.

You depict a ruthless aspect of nature in this picture, Gert.
The poor little Dragonfly is being consumed by ants and you have captured this scene with precision, showing 4 of them on different locations on the victim's body.
The image is well composed.
Thanks and regards.

Hi, dear friend.
You have pictured an amazing rare scene. It is fantastic as well as splendid colours and composition. BG is simply superb too and details of the image also impress the imagination. You have used rather large aperture and could achieve a proper DOF. Unlike you I do not like close-up shooting with D7100 yet. May be all will be in the future. Warm regards and many thanks for touching congratulations and wishes.
Alexei.

Hello Gert,
Even though I know this is the way things go in nature, I always feel a bit of sadness fort the one on the losing end of a battle. The ants look like they will be feasting for a while on such a large insect.
Great capture filled with plenty of detail and beautiful natural colors. Exposure could not be any finer and you obtained nice DOF with your f/6.3 aperture.
Ron
