LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER
The whole Winter I had this lovley bird around the bird feeder and suddenly yesterday when I was planting some flower it just laid there, dead beside me still warm, and I don't have a clue about what killed it there didn't seem to be any wounds of a Hawk and didn't seem to have crashed in to something.

Hello Anders !
Yes, such a sad story - must be difficult to see him dead when you have watched him all winter... And it's such a wonderful bird, I always admire the markings and colors of these woodpeckers... Well, at least you managed to get one last picture of him, and a great picture. Very well done !

sad to see this thing happen, I have fed birds before and some just die, perhaps they were not meant to live long.... tfs
