Hi Ivan. Sounds like you did well to get this close up of the Tiger beetle. You hae sharp focusing and fine detail. I can see all of the white hairs on the body and legs. With natural colours. Your lens has even picked up the small grains of sand. Well done TFS.
Nick..

Hello Ivan,
to day my neighbour; a superb macro shot of Cicindela sylvatica, marvellous bright colours and outstanding sharpness, splendid BG of sand crystals, excellent POV, DOF and composition.
TFS
Best regards
Maurizio
Hello Ivan!
Nice capture of Cicindela sylvatica sylvatica, a species which in Polish is also named "wood tiger beetle". Low POV, good sharpness and DOF make this photo very atractive. But I have one small correction. This species is not the biggest tiger beetle in Europe. The biggest is Megacephala (Grammognatha) euphratica Dejean. This species has even 3cm and can be found in extremely south of Spain and also in S Greece and Cyprus :>
Best regards,
Radomir
PS. Traditionally I would like to add this picture to 2 of my themes: Cicindelidae of Europe and world, do you accept this proposition? :)

Buen trabajo.
Saludos y buen Domingo: J. Ignasi.

Hallo Ivan
I really like the sight of this hairy "old chap". The features seen on this beetle is fascinating to look at and you have captured it really well. The photography on this one is excellent, especially if I look at the catchlight caught in the polkadot eye of this little insect, and the clarity of the segmented parts on the paws. I very much like the sand as backdrop as well. Best regards and thanks for sharing.

The sand granules under it are also in great focus and make a wonderful composition with the subject.

Hi Ivan,
you add an impressive picture to the Tiger beetle collection on TN. I know how hard it is to catch one of these fast runners with the camera and have all the parameters right, so I admire your result.
My best regards

Hello Ivan!
Fantastic shot of this predator in wood variant :-) Sharp and clear, with very well visible thin area of proper DOF. With strange vertical line in its eye and big jaws it looks very dangerous. My favourite beetle for sure!

Hi Ivan
Long time no chat....i hope you and Ulla are doing ok :)
I just had a look through your gallery and knowing that you shoot almost all your macros with the 300mm lens + 1.4 TC, i immediately saw this photo and found myself very puzzled. I only found one tiger beetle last year and back then i only shot macros with my 70-300mm Sigma. I remember it was very difficult to take any good photos of it due to the long distance between me and the beetle and because the speed of these little fellows. This is why i was surprised to see such a fantastic shot form you with an even longer combination :)
The low-angled POV you got here is terrific and the sharpness you managed to produce is impeccable!
My sincere congratulations for pulling this excellent macro off!
Bravo and TFS
