Nice fungi cluster, shoted with masterly flash of your G9!... and optical zoom! I like a lot the textures and warm colors, this generates a nice sense of environnment arout the fungi cluster!... Extra points for tou and your G9! You should write reviews and "how to use" books for bridges and compacts of Canon!...

I wonder if it is possible to photograph this type of light mentioned in notes...interesting quality/characteristic for sure. And in your lesson..a good use of flash. It looks dark..outside I mean..were you waiting for the glow?

Great shot of these Armillaria Ulla !
These are amongst the most common type of mushrooms we find here, although we have our own special Armillaria novae-zelandiae which is very similar to this one.

Fantastic textures and details. I agree with Jesús in the case of the book. :) Right now this species and the closer relatives are growing here in a huge mass, and being edible, people used to pick it with cart. :) Congrats for the pleasant image.

An addition to your good note: only the mycelium is able to produce bioluminesce, the fruitbody isn't, so Armillaria mellea isn't something like the "glowing fungi" (Mycena lux-coeli and Mycena chlorophos) of the East Asian / Oceanian rainforests. The "damage of pine and spruce plantations" is usually caused by a closed relative, Armillaria ostoyae (Romagn.) Herink, because A. mellea is relatively rare on coniferous wood.

Incredible close-up capture of these Honey fungi.
The low POV worked well and contributed to the nice blurr effect in the background. Exposure looks perfect, there is nice color saturation and excellent focus.

I am not sure, but I remember I saw this beautiful fungi here. Your shot is great with focus, exposure, POV and light using. nicely composed and presented. I know bioluminiscence features of some fungi. But I dont remember their species, since I learnt them when I was a biology students many years ago.
