This is a Pearl-bordered Fritillary, I found today up in our famous "butterfly Road".
This is a early spring butterfly but I have never find it in Middle of May before, really nice.
I also find some other spring butterflies and of course a lot butterflies who wintering as adulds.

Sorry I have not been here for many months, most because of personal resons and same healt problems.
I have visit now and then and cam see alot of old friends still are here, very nice.

From wikipedia.
The Pearl-bordered Fritillary (Boloria euphrosyne) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family.
It is orange with black spots on the upperside of its wing and has a wingspan of 38–46 mm.
On the underside of the wings there is a row of silver pearly markings along the edge, which give the species its name.
It is often confused with the Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary, but can be distinguished from it by the triangle along its pearl-border
(the Small Pearl-bordered has black chevrons) as well as the presence of a single silver spot in the middle of a row of yellow spots.
The female has both darker markings and rounder wings than the male. The caterpillars are black with white or yellow spines along their backs.
Like other species of fritillary, the males have special scent glands on their wings so that they can be recognised by females of their own species and therefore find a suitable partner.

Ciao Gert, great macro, fine details, excellent sharpness, good clarity, splendid light and colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Your infrequent returns here prove to the currently active members of TN what standards this site used to have at one time with you and many other top photographers posting regularly, Gert.
It is a privilege to see your outstanding work again.
The image leaves me spell bound.
Thanks and regards.

Hallo Gert
I am so glad to see a posting from you here today. I must be honest as I did not want to visit the site today due to the lack of interest and the lack of comrade among fellow members. But seeing your post and reading Ram's note to you, I am glad I came to see what new photos are there on the gallery.

What a superb butterfly. Beautiful autumn colours and fantastic position in which you have captured it. You caught it very well. Best regards and thanks for sharing.

A macro of high quality, with a delicate exposure, high definition focus, and an interesting background of leaves that seem to form a pattern. Congratulations, Gert.

A hug from ARGENTINA.

Hello Gert,
The Pearl-bordered Fritillary is certainly an attractive butterfly as can be verified by your wonderful image. Wonderful sharpness revealing much detail while colors are well saturated yet natural. I always like the fringe which seems to border the outside edges of their lower wings. Well done!!
