Hello friends,
Sloe Bug, is a species of shield bug in the family Pentatomidae.

Info from Wikipedia.
Dolycoris baccarum can reach a length of about 10–12 millimetres (0.39–0.47 in). The basic color of pronotum and elytra is quite variable, but usually it is reddish purple, while scutellum is ocher. During the winter the basic color is dull brown. The whole body is quite hairy. The antennae are made by 4-5 black and white sections and the margins of the abdomen are alternately mottled with whitish and black. The male and female are very similar.

This shield bug feeds on flowers and fruits of many plants, especially Rosaceae species. A related species encountered in Europe is Dolycoris numidicus.

As usual I not like this poststamp sized picture,

Hi Gert,
My comments relate to your larger posting, not this postage stamp version ;-)
It's just beautiful, and the open framing showing more environmental context is exactly how I prefer to present my own images - but which does not work well at 800px. The details and colours are all glorious, and I appreciate the inclusion of the little "guest star" on the adjacent blade of grass. Thank you for showing this. I have just replaced by old D300 with a D7200, and am only just getting accustomed to the potential improvements in IQ.
Best wishes, Nigel.

Ciao Gert, great macro of lovely bug with fantastic colors, splendid sharpness and fine details, very well done, my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hello Gert,
Beautiful colored Bug. Nicely presented with informative NOTE. If I would captured this picture, definitely I posted it in vertical composition. Vertically I could remove unwanted BLANK PLACE AND DISTRACTING STRAWS. Then I could concentrate on only the Bug and can cherish its beauty.

But, I forgot you have captured this picture and I respect your work. But thinking of "Freedom Of Speech"........(smile)
Thanks for sharing your work with us,
Regards and have a nice WE,

hello Gert

Hello Gert,
Wonderful colored bug taken in superb sharpness and details. The background is a bit busy, therefore I think I prefer a vertical composition. Ideal light conditions.

Hello Gert
Stunning details on this bug captured in a grassy environment
the colors are so beautiful in the sunlight
have a great sunday

Can't thank you enough for your come back, Gert. What a pleasant surprise! Also thanks for your kind words on my recent picture.
