[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was a grey cloudy start this morning, but as it was forecast rain later today and tomorrow we thought we would take the opportunity to see if we do some photography before it got too dark and gloomy.

As it was the warmest November since records began 150 years ago so it was not so surprising to see how green the fields were. This mild weather has encouraged the growth of autumn-sown cereal crops to an intense greeness most unusual for December.

Large flocks of Bean Geese overwinter in Northern Europe to graze where the fields are not covered by snow and in Sweden they have plenty to eat this year, much to the frustration of cereal farmers.

Bean Geese (Anser fabalis) breed in the tundra regions of Europe and Asia. Thousands come to Scania where they spend the winter if there is not too much snow. They can be told apart from Greylags by their dark brown heads and black patches on the orange bill. Every individual has unique markings on the bill, rather like fingerprints.

This shot was taken at a distance of about 60 meters using the car as a hide, though they are even wary of cars when they stop.

Owing to the poor light I set the ISO at 400.

Hi Ivan,
Obviously they didn't see you.. I like a lot this vivid picture out of nature. We also expect snow in the mountains, which doesn't seem to come.
Best regards

That is quite a distance to shoot from, Ivan. Still, the shot has turned out very well. I like the way you have captured them like soldiers on a parade ground -- all of them looking in one direction with perfectly synchronized head movement!
Great shot.

Hello Ivan,
very good moment you captured! Very nice composition. Great sharpness, POV and DOF. Very well done! TFS.

Hi Ivan,
This is a nice group shot, sharp and with good DOF

Great group shot of the geese, I love the contrast of the the subjects on the green grass, it really makes them pop out. :)

Hello Ivan,
It is interesting to see how their attention are the same, but no one seem to notice the photographer!
Almost a summery feeling, and the geese have a great time in the middle of the green field!

Hello Ivan,
Today I'm two years a member of TN. Then on the fourth of December I was a bit nervous. Now I'm an almost daily guest here and enjoy the photos.
You were one of my masters and I've learned a lot from you and your brilliant images.
So I've searched in your work and find the photo you present on that date. This photo is really a masterpiece.
Kind regards,
Thanks a lot for your education and wonderful contribution.
