Falcated duck
Canard ŕ faucilles

Length: 48-54cm
Distribution: Eastern Asia

This migratory species lives in " lowland wetlands, such as water meadows or lakes, and usually feeds by dabbling for plant food or grazing. It nests on the ground, near water and under the cover of taller vegetation. The clutch is 6–10 eggs." (Wikipedia)

Not many animals outside now, I dig in my archives.
This picture has been taken in Zurich Zoo.

Hello Anne,
A welcome guest in bird parks. They got very attractive feathers in beautiful colours. Your POV was a bit high, but the colours are very beautiful and the sharpness and details are fantastic.

Quel closed up de ce canard que je n'ai jamais eu la chance de voir.La netteé est impeccable et que dire du détails du plumage.Couleurs et lumiere sont également excellente
Merci Michel

WOW what a great head shot :0) Looking at this it reminds me of that photo manipulation where you make portions of the portrait color and leaving the rest black and white. Such an interesting looking bird!!! And love the water droplets you caught in mid air too

Hello Anne
Beautiful bird and beautiful photo with very good composition, wonderful colours and very good sharpness.
