Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus). A very rare winter visitor to Switzerland. Irregularly (every 4-5 years) there are some invasions of these beautiful birds in our country.
So this year is one of those years we can see them again.

From wiki:
The Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) is a member of the waxwing family of passerines. A sleek bird, 18–21 cm long with a pointed crest, it travels in large, nomadic groups with a strong, direct flight. It breeds in coniferous forests throughout the most northern parts of Europe, Asia and western North America. As the Cedar Waxwing inhabits only North America and the Japanese Waxwing only Asia, the Bohemian Waxwing is the only member of this family whose range circumnavigates all the continents just below the sub-Arctic latitudes.

Hello Pierre,
Nice photo of this Bohemian Waxwing in terrible backlight. But the colours are nice and the sharpness looks good.

Hello Pierre,
It's really very difficult to capture a picture when back light makes the subject darker. And if the subject is dark coloured then it would be very tough. But you have taken it nicely.Even I can see eye clearly.Nice yellow tip on the end of tail.Splendid sharpness and POV.Well done.
Thanks for sharing,
Kind regards,

Artistic presentation; this looks as if it could be a lovely card!

Bonjour Pierre,
Cette espèce j'aimerais bien la voir aussi. Je crois que je dois aller à Erlach!
Une lumière pas facile que tu as bien maitrisée. Une présentation décentrée bien choisie aussi. Chanceux!

Hello Pierre,
Excellent capture with fine details and nice clarity.
Best regards,

There the composition that tells the whole in one look, TFS.

Bonsoir Pierre.

A bientôt.
