Hi all!

Let me present you one of my last discoveries of new wildlife species, the "Phoca Vitulina Glaciens Ephemeralis". I met this beautiful animal a couple of days ago and was touched by its tender view. It looked at me as if it would tell me to stay for a while and I almost could feel its transitoriness.

I then could not resist and asked it the permission to take a picture. It gave me this permission, but under the condition that the picture would be published on TN...

Kingdom: Animalia
Class: Mammalia
Order: Carnivora (not sure yet)
Suborder: Pinnipedia
Family: Phocidae Glaciensi
Genus: Phoca
Species: Phoca Vitulina Glaciens Ephemeralis

Taken in RAW, basic corrections in Camera RAW such as colour temperature, level corrections, sharpness; import to PS CS4 and final postprocessing.

Kind regards

Markus

Hallo Markus
A very interesting species you discovered and indeed a very special kind. I am glad you are able to share it with the humans of this earth in particular the people of Trek Nature.

It is very fascinating to look at. One can get lost in time and imagination, looking at all the different shapes and patterns in this image. The texture of the surface on the upper half of the image reminds me of what I have seen in documentaries when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon for the 1st time.

The texture of the surface in the right hand bottom corner and on the left hand middle reminds me of lace, which is soft and delicate and womanlike.

The round circles in the middle of the frame reminds me of the bubbles from a foam bath, and to round of this image filled with hidden treasures I also see a Christmas stocking. Thanks for sharing this unique species. Best regards.
Anna

Lieber Markus,

Nochmals gute Nacht, Dieter

Hi Markus,

Another of your miraculous discoveries! An amazing piece of ice art. I love this "animal" surrounded by the bubbles and how "he" is resting in the wonderful angle which divides the picture into sections. We are so lucky to have you, your imagination, and your skills on TN.

Jane

Haha:) Amazing post Markus,

TFS and have a nice day!

Schöne Komposition mit feiner Farbgebung von gold zu grau sich wandelnd. Wie länger ich es anschaue, desto besser gefällt mir dieses Bild.

Hello Markus,
Congratulations on this new species. It actually resembles a seal with it's head resting on a large boulder. I can definitely see the water bubbles surrounding it's body as it just emerged from the water. Please keep us posted on any new or interesting specimens from your area of the world.
