Back from the mountains..
A view on some pics of the Bernese Alps, minor pics very close to the more famous Bietschhorn.
I liked this play of shadow and light on the rocks and snow. In a way it is symbolic for the last decade, where we had quite a lot of shadow, but still light , and being of optimistic nature, I just hope that the light-part will become more important.
Picture taken from the other side of the Rhone Valley.

Lovely mountain picture taken on Christmas Day, Anne.
The light does play a very interesting role in this picture. The snow fields at the rear of the peak contrast well with the peak in shadows.
This is also to wish you and family a Happy New Year!
Ram

Bonjour Anne,
The greyness of the past, together with the possible brightness of a future are well composed in this wintery alpine image!
The photography is great and the symbolism tantalising.
Thank you and I wish you health and happiness in 2010!
Amitiés,
Ivan

Hi Anne. It looks like two pictures one in the sun and the other in the shade. What a way to spend Christmas day . A fine picture to end the year with .TFS.
Nick..

A very Happy New Year to you and your family.

Hi Anne,
The texture you've captured in the mounta is most wonderful it really brings the mountain alive, if you know what I mean. The contrast between the shadowed area and the sunlit area is beautiful and adds good depth to the photo. I also like the darkness of the clouds since it adds that misterious feel to it.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Anne.
Es ist schon erstaunlich wie geheimnisvoll Berge sein können. Durch die interessante Beleuchtung und dadurch entstehenden Schatten
sind die noch schöne. Für den kommenden Neuen Jahr wünsche ich alles Gute.Siggi

Very dramatic picture Annne!
I like greay colouration and paly of shadows on the top of this mountain. It looks like before snow-storm :>
TFS and have a nice weeek!

Hello Anne,
A wonderful view across the high Alp tops with lovely contrast between light and shadow.
You must have been high up to get this view?!
Excellent work!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Dear Anne,

Somebody said J'adore les notes - moi, j'adore les montagnes - so beautifully photographed and presented.

The early or late? sun rays just touching the top of the mountain make your photo a "cut-out" of one of the famous Swiss Mountains' Calendars!

I know - I have said it numerous times - but it is SO true, that clouds make a photo of mountains so more fascinating.

The soft colours (like a water-colour painting) emphasising the sharp crest and the bit of tree-top in the bottom right corner adds interest to the picture.

This view makes me cry out "please show us more!"

I know, it is a standard phrase on this site - but I TRULY mean it: thanks for sharing!

Best wishes for a healthy 2010
Gruezi,
Ingrid

ciao Anne!
un superbo controllo della luce in questo panorama di vette imbiancate...magnifico lo squarcio di luce viva sulla destra che
mostra la neve binchissima

Hi Anne

For me, this is what draws me in to return to the mountains time and time again. 6 weeks and counting and I will be back there for 2 weeks...

you say "I liked this play of shadow and light on the rocks and snow", well that is what makes photography and pictures of the mountains different from everything else and everyones elses... the light and the art of capturing and recording it and the touch of blue in the top right adds to this picture.

thank you for sharing it with us and Happy New Year.

Emma

Bonsoir Anne.
