Speckled Yellow

The Speckled Yellow is a moth of the Geometridae-family.

Size: 23mm-28mm
Distribution: All over Europe
Flighttime: May and June

The patterns of the wings can be variable.
For me not usual to show a picture like that. The Moth, which I had seen on our excursion with Dieter was flying around and we didn't succeed to catch it. And finally it had this strange idea to pose on Dieters (meyerd) trousers! And I have to say that the grey makes a good color-contrast.
It's a species which I didn't show until now and I would like to add it to my theme on Swiss Butterflies.

Ciao Anne, my today neighbour, lovely moth with fantastic colors, excellent sharpness and fine details, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

My exalted neighbour #2 on the gallery today, Anne!
Dietrich's trousers certainly make a fine BG for this Moth which looks more like a butterfly with such rich and varied colours and patterns on its wings.
You did well to grab the image despite the unusual (but not odd) background. It is a wonderful composition.
Thanks and regards.

Fine species of moth shown well with good colors. tfs.

Ciao Anne. Exciting brilliant colour and very good sharp for this beauty. Excellente details. very well done.

Certainly an unknown species for me, Mrs.Gattlen, but well executed shot with lots of detail powerful orange colors and sharpness. The controversial background can be seen as a distraction for some, but for me it create a lovely contrast indeed!

Hello Anne,
What an obliging Moth settled so nicely against a dark background! It's very beautiful and details and colours are wonderful. A species new to me!
Today we had a glimpse of sunshine, hurra!! We took a trip out into the countryside but after the rains the grass is very high everywhere and not many flowers about yet and only a few insects.
TFS and have a good week!, Ulla

HI Anna,
Lieben Dank, super

Hello Anne,
Beautiful moth in great sharpness and natural colours.

Bonsoir Anne,

Hello Anne,
Lovely details and very good clarity. Nice composition and interesting landing...

Hallo Anne,

Gute Nacht! Dieter

Hello Anne,
yes very beautiful colour contrast of orangey on the well textured cloth. The spots and patterns are lively and lighting makes it look more shiny and clearer.
Details well seen and excellent diagonal composition of the wings at the corners.

bonjour Anne

Meine liebe Freundin Anne,

It is amazing that this little guy thinks, he is a panther or rather can imitate a panther :-)). Do you happen to know what the usual habitat is, when he does not live in Dieter's trousers? I assume it must be some golden coloured flowers, otherwise the camouflage would not work!

The details shown are amazing, including the little eye looking straight into your camera. I like particularly the colour matching wig.

Hi Anne,
How interesting the fact is that I had captured the same species just a few weeks before your shot was made, and the characters of the photo were almost the same! Here it is, if interested. But your pic is better and aesthetically nicer, as far as sharpness and color saturation go. Contrast is really awesome, as you wrote, and the entire photo is perfect overall (much better than mine). Brava!
Best regards, László
