[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the most decorative plants on alpine meadows are the Aquilegia flowers (Columbine, Akelei, Ancolie)
They belong to the family Ranunculaceae and it exists about 70 different species.
They are perennial flowers which grow on meadows and woodlands. In our region we can see in the wild mainly two species. One, blue (Aquilegia vulgaris) and one quite dark (Aquilegia atrata).
Aquilegia is used as food plants by some Lepidoptera, especially moths.

Hello Anne,
Beautiful Aquilegia flowers. Sharpness and exposure are great. The main subject stands out nicely from the background. I like the way you composed this picture.

Hello Anne,
Lovely details have been captured in this delicate little flower!
Spot on DOF isolates the plant nicely, and I like the tiny tilt in composition!

Hi Anne

A lovely shot of these striking flowers. The detail and exposure are great and I especially like the gossomer on the seed heads.

Hello Anne,
Many of us associate Aquilegia with garden flowers, forgetting that the original alpine wild forms are just as beautiful.
You have captured the flowers and seed pods beautifully in a pleasing diagonal composition with good sharpness, colours and against a fine OOF natural BG.
Thanks for sharing this and for your kind words on my 300th!
Best wishes, Ivan

Hi Anne,
Really a beautiful flower. Representative picture, well composed. Thanks for sharing.

Bonsoir Anne!

Hi Annie, elegant composition with lovely flowers, splendid colors, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

perfect exposure and focus in it with sharpness and details
a good photo

Hello Anne,
A beautiful flower indeed. We have red flowers that resemble these here in the Northwest and they are commonly named the Shooting Star, and also are edible with a sweet taste.
Excellent sharpness and crop...

Hi Anne,
Very beautiful flowers and very decorative too. Very neat and sharp image and the colours are so soft and charming. Superb light control, exposure levels and DOF with the BG looking fabulous. I like your chosen POV to portray these flowers and very nicely composed too. Kudos.

Guten Abend Anne,

Alpine meadows is one of the places I could probably put on my shortlist. I have heard much. I have an original painting handed down by a Dutch painter...and this flower is a small but clearly dominant part of the oil painting. Done wonderfully it is almost a greeting card from Switzerland. Thanks much.

hello anne,
the Aquilegia flowers look beautiful, well composed shot, precise dof, lovely colours,
tfs & regards

Hi Anne,
A very nice beautiful flower you have captured. Fine details and composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Anne,
A very pleasing image, I like the composition most of all..
Excellent work.

Hi Anne,
A wonderful delicate flower which you captured beautifully. I like the overall darkness of the composition, since it fits the type of flower perfectly. The diagonal composition is great. I do think that a slightly smaller aperture would have been better. It would have made the cobweb more sharp. Still, a great photo.

Hi Anne.
You have created a true art picture. I like tender and beautiful subject. Inclined charming flowers are looked greatly with nice delicate light and colours. BG is amazing too. Especially I like blurred light blue silhouettes of the flowers. Bravo and best wishes.
