Hi all!

I was absent for a couple of days and had the chance to take part in a climbing camp in the south of France near Aix en Provence. When I came home, I found "my" mountains covered with a delightful fresh snow. I couldn't resist and went for a ski hiking tour together with my brother and two friends. We went on the Schafarnisch (2107m). As you can see, it was great spring weather and the snow conditions were marvellous.

Taken in RAW, level corrections, attenuation of the bright tones, sharpness, saved as TIFF and then cropped and JPG for TN.

Kind regards

Oh Man! You've reminded me that I can't go skiing for a whole year! I went to Bulgaria for a skiing holiday in January and I can still feel the exhilarating speed and that lovely rythmic movement... the best thing I've ever done!
You are so lucky to be able to ski off your doorstep (or something like that) and to have this mind-blowingly beautiful scenery a ski-hike away from you!
What awesome depth there is to this shot.
I think it's the shadows of the clouds on the snowy peaks that give the shot it's very impressive touch.
Excellent composition and I think the simple FG works well as it puts more emphasis on the mountains.
Very sharp and crisp.
Just amazing!
Very well done Markus!

Hello Markus,
Excellent captured of this beautiful scenery in spring weather over the mountains!
the white-balanced is superbly done with good displayed of light and shadows over it, just beautiful!
many thanks for the sharing!
have a wonderful sunday
best regards

Hi Markus!

Very good to see you back! You sure love your home field if you go camping elsewhere but don't post from there but quickly take pictures at home :)
Details of snow on the close side are so real like I could reach in the snow from here. And the shadows on the mountain are also wonderful. And as the clouds in the back follow the line of the peaks. Although I love your close ups but I missed to see one of these wonderful landscapes from you.
A picture where I like to look around very much, TFS!

Best regards,

Very nice photo! I can see why you would call them your mountains... I call my Sahale Mine... even though I obviously can't own it, but some how feel some kind of strange feeling when going there. Almost like being home again. I hope your ski trip was great! Cheers Josh Lewis.

Hi Markus,
how much I miss those spring snowy days, when you can go anyplace in mountain and find new things that were covered by the winter. Ski gives that oportunity and the feeling of freedom and the noise of the silence are great.
The picture is beautiful, reminds me my mountains (as you told me in some comments before, very similar places!!)
I love those clouds at the back, seems that the sky is just there. WEll done with light and brightness, the balance is great. Good DOF and POV. I like this part where you show how the wind blows and there is not snow.
thanks for share this ski hikking with us!
have a nice sunday!
