SEE THE LARGE POST FOR THE FULL PANORAMA

Hi all!

I just hope that my doctor does not know TrekNature... if he would know that I was at the summit of the Cousimbert (1663m) yesterday he would catch me by the ears...

The weather was great: the wind blew hard, the fog played with the sun, the temperature (-11°C) was superb. After my surgery I took my first great bowl of fresh air and with almost frozen hands took a series of 8 pictures before the clouds closed the sky definitively. Before that, I only had a window of a couple of minutes to take the pictures because of the fog that just had left when I arrived and then came back.

The Cousimbert is a magical place with a fantastic panoramic view on the Alps as well as on the Swiss Plateau and the Jura. Most of the time it's windy up there and yesterday I was alone with a couple of beautiful deers.

8 pictures taken in RAW and put together to one large (Autopano), basic level corrections before the import in "Autopano"; sharpness and saturation in PS.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Markus. It must have been wonderful to get up on the mountains again. looking at the picture you have posted tonight will make you better in health than any doctor. A beautiful compostion with good use of the light when it came for the short time. well done TFS.
Nick..

So the winter came... :)
Nice panoramic view for this mountain area. I like beauty of snow, mountains and sky. Good combination of 8 pictures in RAW brings here "cold atmosphere and climat" :)
Thank you for showing this photo and all the best!

Hallo Markus, nochmals,

Triumph!

Dieter

Hi Markus,

Everyone has to click this to get the large view! It's the closest thing to being there. It's still warm here in Arizona but I actually had chills looking at the picture. Just marvelous - brought back my wonderful memories of Switzerland. I promise not to tell your doctor if you promise to show us more of the eight pictures you took.

Jane

Hello Markus,

You have made an excelent panorama with a beautifull landscape. I like the well defined planes of your photo as well as the way it suggest the deapness. Using well the exisiting light you have got very many and nice grey color tones. Sky's pattern is different from ground's one making a fine contrast.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

My village is at an altitude of 2000 meters plus, Markus, and you are not supposed to go up even up to 1600M because of your health. I am surprised! But then it is Switzerland and not Himalayas.
I love this place covered in fresh snow. Reminds me of my native place in winters. The distinction between the sky and the earth is almost negligible here, yet the picture is extremely beautiful.
It was great fun looking at the LP too.
Many thanks and best regards.

Ciao Markus,

Habe sehr grosse Freude an diesem Bild.
Anne

What pleasure to see this beautiful area in the wide frame LP Markus.
Excellent post processing work,
Very well done!!

Hi Markus.
Terrific panoramic picture. I am impressed a lot, especially considering that I have not anyone. Hi dear Markus ,
So nice landscspe with great compo and lovely clouds.
I like to be there.

Thanks for sharing

Bonjour Markus,

Hi Markus-

Gorgeous panorama. The most important part of this photo is getting there to take it. Any doctor worth anything would know (and should acknowledge to you) that your hiking trip is important to your mental and physical health, as long as you take good care of your hand. Of course because I'm also a crazy winter photographer, I'm entirely sympathetic. Keep doing things like this and you will stay younger than your years.

Best regards,
Bob

Hello my friend Markus,
Thank you for this lovely winter scenery from your part of the world, especially with a summit view like this, simply beautiful!!
perfect moment captured just before it covered up with just enough light to view the scenery!
both images are great and I enjoyed it!
take care and sincere regards
Tony

Markus,
Fantastic panoramic view, All Swiss landscape is worth making into a panoramic view. I like the very beautiful cloud formation with this snow capped mountains and valley. Simply beautiful. Thanks
Way

Hi Markus,
I did not expect you to post a larger version of this photo. But, I am glad you did. It is certainly a blessing to see the details although the horizontal scroll does not do justice to the photo.
I like the different curves and diagonal lines in the photo. it created a lot depth. The filtered light by the gave a wonderful subdued effect to the photo.
TFS,
Niek
