Fantastic macro image, Anne, and it is a Robberfly in my opinion too.
Superb over-all focus, wonderful colours and a goldmine of details on the entire subject. The POV could not be better, showing both the eyes in the sharpest possible manner.

A superb macro taken from a great low POV to show this fly with fantastic sharpness, DOF and fine colours. The BG is also great.

No this is not a robber fly. It is a Snipe Fly (Rhagio scolopaceus).

Must have been so cold that a part of the leaf was icy so he slipped with his hind leg:-) clear as a day in front of a judge. Very nice addition of a simple creature. MErci de ce partage photographique. Très belle composition d'une photographie pleine de vie (en particulier, la posture générale de l'insecte et celle de sa patte arrière droite : vient-il juste de se poser ; ou est il sur le départ ?

Très bonne netteté tout au long du sujet, bien mis en valeur sur un arrière plan d'une belle neutralité.

Bravo pour cette image d'une grande richesse de détails et de couleurs.
