I found this beautiful beetle in Rigi, a mountain in central Switzerland, that is part of the Swiss Alps. I have no idea of the identity of this insect. If you recognize it, please let me know.

Hallo Edgar
This is really beautiful and indeed striking. The details captured on this beetle are lovely and display well against the unusual background. The metallic green in contrast with the red paws is a great match and fit each other like a hand fills a glove, like two puzzle pieces that fit one another at the right spot. A real beauty. Thanks for sharing.Best regards.

Very clear and sharp picture. The light is quite good considering how difficult those shiny beetles are to portray properly. The composition might perhaps have been improved a little.
Its name is Carabus auronitens, female.

Hi Edgar,

Superb capture of this metalic green insect. Nice sharp and bright image. Good work!

very fine beetle to see here, good capture, yes, the composition could have been better. more space to the left than in the right would have been good. tfs.
